Introduction
Monobromobimane (mBBr) is essentially nonfluorescent, and freely passively diffuse across the plasma membrane into the cytoplasm, where they form blue-fluorescent adducts with intracellular glutathione and thiol containing proteins. The glutathione conjugate of monobromobimane has absorption/emission maxima ~394/490 nm. mBBr has been reported to be used as effective tracer of gap-junctional communication.
