Introduction
Our Cell-Quant™ MTT Cell Proliferation Assay Kit provides a standard cell proliferation analysis based on cellular metabolic activity. MTT is an widely established reagent that is used to determine cell number in a variety of applications. Live cells reduce MTT to a strongly pigmented formazan product. After solubilization, the absorbance of the formazan can be measured with a microplate absorbance reader. This kit provides a complete package for performing a cell-counting assay that can detect from 2000 to 250,000 cells, depending on the cell type and conditions. The kit provides a sufficient amount of material for ~1000 assays.

Figure 1. Quantitation of Jurkat cells using the Cell-Quant™ MTT Cell Proliferation Assay Kit. Jurkat cells were diluted to the indicated cell numbers in 100 µL volumes, delivered to the wells of a microplate, and incubated for 4 hr with Cell-Quant™ MTT Cell Proliferation Assay Kit, absorbance was measured at 570 nm.
